ABC’s hit show black-ish captivated audiences with the humorous way social and political issues were addressed. According to reports, one of the fourth season’s episodes has been pulled from the lineup for that exact reason.

“Given our creative differences, neither ABC nor I were happy with the direction of the episode and mutually agreed not to air it,” black-ish creator Kenya Barris said in a statement.

In the episode, title “Please, Baby, Please,” Dre (Anthony Anderson) is trying to calm his infant son during a thunderstorm by telling a bedtime story. As the storm worsens, he switches gears and begins making up his own story that incorporates his sociopolitical concerns. Dre even touched on athletes’ right to kneel during the national anthem.  The episode was originally scheduled to air on February 27th, 2018.
