How do rumors like this begin?
With the global takeover of Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty lingerie line and the fashion powerhouse that is Marc Jacobs, many believe that a small rivalry erupted between the two powerhouses at NYFW on Wednesday evening.
As the night capped the close to NYFW, both Jacobs and RiRi scheduled their shows in the evening–causing fans and supporters to pick a side as to which event they would attend. Rihanna’s show was located in Brooklyn, while Jacobs’ show took place in Manhattan–at least 30 minutes apart in traveling distance.
Jacobs, who historically has closed fashion week, was slated to begin his show at 6 p.m., while Rihanna’s would begin at 7:30 p.m. However, all hell seemed to break loose when Jacobs show, which usually is an on-time event, got held up for 1 hour and 26 minutes–pushing the clock to interfere with Rihanna’s show.
Two shows. 1 uber. Which one do you choose?
A tweet from journalist Christina Binkley popped everything off on social media. We see you girl!
Priceless: Rumors that Marc Jacobs held his 6pm show late tonight to spite Rihanna – by making people miss her 7:30pm Fenty show – for taking his NYFW-closing time slot.

Now while all of this is hearsay and nothing has been confirmed, fashion lovers reveled in the supposed drama.
Some took the petty route by tweeting out the front row of Jacobs’ show as editors scrambled to make Rihanna’s event, while others said this was all just a simple oversight or misunderstanding.
Either way, the tea is still piping hot and the reactions are priceless. This has been a fashion week for the record books!
