Just last week pop-signer Christina Aguilera released her first new song “Accelerate”, proving to the world that her music is ready to return to the dance floor. This morning, she reminds us all that she can still sing a towering ballad as well.
“Twice” is a somber piece of music, with very little more accompanying Aguilera’s strong vocals than a piano. In the song the 37-year-old reflects on her life, and where she’s headed. “Are you devil are you angel / Am I heaven, am I hell / I can barely find the proof to save myself. Are you water are you fire / Are you filthy are you pure / Oh I thought by now I’d know, but I’m not sure / Well you’re no angel I never asked you to be / You’re my danger cause that’s just what I need / But it still hurts me.” For the chorus she sings “Sometimes I wonder what is the meaning of my life / I found the price of love and lost my mind / I will forgive them all of my wrongs and my rights / I’d do it all again and won’t think twice.”
Aguilera made the announcements through Twitter, stating that “Love the raw vocal quality on this and the spiritual emotion tone it captures/conveys for me.”
The released singles could be part of her performance at the Billboard Music Awards on May 20th, but she is also expected to premiere another new single on that day as she is set to perform with Demi Lovatao who sings with her on another unreleased track”Fall In Line.”
Aguilera’s new album, “Liberation” is set to be released on June 15th. All three mentioned tracks will be part of that. Once the new album is released, Aguilera will be heading out on The Liberation Tour” which will be the first time she’s been on the road since 2006.
