In the era of #MeToo, it’s become quite common to hear new allegations almost weekly about notable men. But stories surrounding some famous women have started to pop up more and more as well. Actress and activist Asia Argento, a prominent face in the #MeToo movement who claims she was raped by Harvey Weinstein, was recently accused of having sex with a former co-star when he was underage. Even Issa Rae was randomly accused of physically assaulting her former The Misadventures of an Awkward Black Girl co-star, Madison T. Shockley III, allegedly pressing a chair onto his foot (the people weren’t buying it and she never responded). And now, someone is trying to accuse Halle Berry of inappropriate behavior in the past, but she’s not having any of it.
On a simple post Berry shared about devoting a part of her Sundays to reading, which included the 52-year-old asking fans what they’re currently reading, a man tried to claim Berry grabbed him inappropriately. The comment, based on tone, seems to make light of serious accusations made by women. And while the guy probably assumed Berry wouldn’t even see his statement, she didn’t take too kindly to him claiming “she grabbed me by my genitalia.” Her Oakwood, Ohio beginnings came all the way out.
“I don’t know you Bruh, and you don’t get to make comments about me like this,” she wrote. “I have never met you, nor have I ever disrespect [sic] anyone the way you have suggested. Now get a life and get the F–K off my page with that bullsh-t! Peace chicken grease!”
Berry doesn’t play when it comes to accusations of sexual assault against anyone. When the star’s former manager, Vincent Cirrincione, was accused of sexually inappropriate behavior by women of color who sought out his representation, she spoke out immediately in support of the women.
“I’m livid that he used me, and the role model he helped me become, to lure and manipulate innocent, vulnerable women of color for his predatory actions,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m deeply hurt and I want these women and countless others to know I see you. I hear you. You matter. I will fight for you.”
And as you can see, she puts up quite the good fight for herself, too.
