When Zendaya put out a call to diversify the representation of Black women in mainstream entertainment, it was long overdue. Even though we are currently seeing more and more Black women getting their shine, we still need more of the spotlight.
Right now, Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, and Danai Gurira are the hot names that people want to book (with good reason). And while they’re wonderful candidates to start the charge for more meaningful, varied, and powerful representations, flip ahead to see who else we would love to have a bigger presence.
