Beachy Stripes Are A Must-Have Spring 2017 Trend
For anyone looking for a seaside escape this season, Spring 2017’s trend of stripes can instantly transport you to a decadent, relaxing beach vacation. Whether you’re a fan of brilliant pastel hues or red and white colourblocking, look no further than the runway trend of beach inspired stripes. From work to play, we’ve curated our favourite ways to rock the trend right now.
Casual Chic
As we prepare for balmy springtime days ahead, draw your sartorial cues from the Red Valentino runway. Accessorize a pair of red and white striped shorts with a white crochet top and a matching oversized red and white button-down shirt. Add white espadrilles to truly capture the look, and prepare to sun as you run errands or grab drinks on a Saturday afternoon.
Work Wear
This understated chic trend is a perfect way to embrace springtime’s colour scheme and bold stripes. Look no further than the Rosie Assoulin catwalk, where vertical stripes in a bevy of hues brought a sunny touch to beachwear. A white top was accented with peach, yellow and coral stripes, while flared turquoise trousers received an upgrade with elongating white and red stripes.
Evening
Stripes may have often been associated with low key afternoons, but they can just as easily be transformed into a luxurious evening essential. Rather than loose shorts or tailored trousers, the after hours call for an off-the-shoulder neckline and an asymmetrical hemline. Slip into a flowing striped frock (as spotted at Banana Republic) and get ready to dance the night away.
