BeingU Is The Black Owned Lingerie Line Celebrating The Beauty Of Women Of Color

Before the likes of Nubian Skin and many others, the market for lingerie geared towards women of color of lackluster. And as we know, “nude” isn’t a one-size fits all.
However, Sadia Sisay is mission to positively contribute to women of color embracing their uniqueness and undeniable beauty. Sisay is the creator of the beautifully crafted lingerie brand, beingU, which offers bras, panties and briefs for a varying size of body types and skin tones.
Born in Sierra Leone and raised in the UK, Sisay’s main goal of beingU is putting an end to black women feeling invisible. “We see you, we understand you and you are visible,” she told ESSENCE in a new interview. “beingU has 5 rich skin tones and our sizes have a range from 28-44 back and B-H cups at the moment. beingU is you. beingU is me. beingU is my daughter. I hope that beingU will become a brand that women of color understand sees them. Our objective is that we will get enough people supporting us, spreading our message so that women, especially darker skinned women, will see that we are valued.”
We see you, Sadia! If you’d like more information on beingU, head over to their official site and pick up some lingerie goods to keep you both sexy and warm this winter.
