Bradley Cooper Set To Direct A Star Is Born Remake
A Star Is Born is set to be remade for a fourth time, this time with Bradley Cooper set to star in the film, but to make his directorial debut as well. Lady Gaga is also set to star in the film, which will be her first starring role.
Warner Bros. announced that A Star Is Born will be released on September 28, 2018, which will give the film ample time to be made. It’ll also give the movie time to make its big red carpet premiere during one of the fall festivals such as TIFF. The original film came out in 1937, and starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, followed by the 1954 remake starring James Mason and Judy Garland and the 1976 with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. All version of the film follows the story of a fading movie star who helps an aspiring actress climb to the top of the industry.
Cooper’s director in American Sniper, Clint Eastwood, attempted to get the movie made for several years before leaving the project. He’d actually wanted Cooper to be the star of his film, before suggesting to the actor that he should use it as his first directing job. Lady Gaga has been attached to the project since June, and has been making quite the name for herself with her roles in American Horror Story, Sin City and Machete Kills. She won a Golden Globe for best actress in a miniseries for her role in American Horror Story: Hotel, and recently released a new album.
