Last night at the All-Stream Center in Toronto six celebrities became the newest Canadians inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame. Also honoured during the presentation was a rising country music star who was presented with the Allan Slaight award.
Jeanne Beker, Darryl Sittler, Corey Hart, Deppa Mehta and Jason Priestly all walked the red carpet, alongside the late Al Waxman’s family. Also joining them was the young country music star Brett Kissel who received the Allan Slaight award for the positive impact he’s made on the music scene. Real Style was on the red carpet for the event, and spoke to Margaret Trudeau, who was inducting Jeanne Beker, Nikki Yanofsky who was presenting Brett Kissel with his award, Roberta Bondar who was inducting Deppa Mehta, Deppa Mehta herself, and Al Waxman’s good friend and Cagney and Lacey co-star Sharon Gless.
Unless you were lucky enough to get tickets to the show last night, you won’t be able to watch the inductees receive their stars until December 18th when it airs on Global. The six new additions raise the total of stars on the Walk of Fame along King street in Toronto to 167, which is an impressive number considering it wasn’t established until 1998.
