Check Out The First Images From Life-Size 2

After back and forth speculation about whether or not Lindsay Lohan would take part in the new Life-Size 2 movie, Tyra Banks finally announced that they had recast the co-star role with Francia Raísa from “Grown-Ish” and “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”

Since that time, production must have moved along smoothly because now there are images coming from the set and they look pretty good.

In the original 2000 film, Eve, a doll comes to life to help a little girl Casey (played by Lohan) navigate her life as a young woman after the death of her mother. It was the first acting project for Banks. In the new film, Grace, played by Raísa, is a 25-year-old who inherits the toy company who produced the Eve doll, about 18 years ago, when the first film was released.

This time Eve will be something like a fairy-godmother to Grace who is struggling with the pressures of her newfound responsibilities.

With these more adult-like problems, Tyra had to take a different approach with her character.

“Eve’s here to show [Grace] you can be that boss bitch. I play her differently now. There are a little bit more layers, and much more comedy. There’s something I find a bit more endearing with this Eve than the first one…. I think a part of it is approaching it from a producer’s perspective…. I feel like I’m stronger because it’s [more fulfilling] to make something better than to do it from scratch.”

Banks and Raísa shared a touching moment as their real selves on the set of the tv movie. Raísa explained to Entertainment Weekly.

“The challenge with Grace is allowing Eve to love her…. opening her heart, [getting] comfortable being herself,” Raisa — who embarked on a journey of self-acceptance after undergoing invasive surgery to donate a kidney to her friend Selena Gomez — finishes. “I have a scene where my stomach shows. I was like, ‘Tyra, do you want me to cover the scars?’ She goes, ‘No, girl! Show them! It’s part of your life; It’s your story.’ That’s the theme throughout the movie: be you, show you, love people, don’t be afraid of who you are.”

And while Lohan won’t play opposite of Banks, she does have some type of presence in the new project.

Banks told EW, “There’s something beautiful we do with Lindsay in this movie that’ll speak to die-hard fans,” Banks exclusively tells EW of the Freeform movie, which is set for release this December as part of the network’s 25 Days of Christmas. “I can’t say how, but you will see something!”

The made-for-tv movie will fair on Freeform in December.

Tyra’s fashions are definitely doll-like. And I’m here for a feel-good Christmas film and what looks to be a diverse cast.
