DeWanda Wise is having a great ride as of late. In addition to her work in the now-canceled WGN series, “Underground,” and most recently in the Netflix reboot of “She’s Gotta Have It,” the actress is now set to co-star in an upcoming Marvel film.
According to Deadline, Wise will join Brie Larson in the new movie, Captain Marvel. Wise will join Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, and Ben Mendelsohn.
Captain Marvel is the alter ego of an Air Force pilot named Carol Danvers. Danvers becomes a superhero after her DNA fuses with an alien’s after a car accident.
Captain Marvel is set to open in theaters March 2019.
