Ed Sheeran’s New Album, Divide, Out March 3
25 year old Ed Sheeran is officially back, announcing his new album this morning on Instagram, and the title of the album shouldn’t shock anyone. It’s simply ÷ (or in actual English, Divide).
Sheeran first made a splash in 2011 with his first album + (or Plus), followed by 2014’s x (or Multiply). Fans have been anxiously awaiting the news that a new album was on the way after Sheeran released two new tracks, and teased the track list. The official announcement came this morning, with Sheeran stating that the album will be released on March 3rd, with the pre-order starting tonight at midnight.
The cover art was always revealed in the post, and as expected it’s a basic design. It’s simply a blue background with the division sign featured prominently. The cover art is very similar to the art for the already released music, Castle on the Hill and Shape of You. Shape of You already is a hit, and even broke Spotify’s record for single day streams, with more than 7.9 million listens in the first 24 hours.
The full track list is:
Eraser
Castle on the Hill
Dive
Shape of You
Perfect
Galway Girl
Happier
Heart Dn’t Break Around Here
New Man
What Do I Know?
How Do You Feel? (Paean)
Supermarket Flowers
Our only question is this, when Sheeran runs out of mathematical symbols, will he stop putting out albums? At least at this point he still has subtract and equals left.
