If you’re the type of person who likes to gift unique, uncommon presents, Toronto’s annual One Of A Kind Show just may suit your tastes. Since 1975, this event has showcased the work of local artisans, while providing shoppers with the opportunity to shop locally crafted handmade products. The One Of A Kind Show officially kicked off on November 24 at the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place in Toronto, and runs until December 4.
For two weeks, the selected artisans will set up shop at one of the 800-plus booths located at the centre, selling everything from art to apparel and home décor to gourmet desserts. For a truly seamless Christmas shopping experience, take advantage of the on-site gift wrapping services on offer. The One of a Kind Show is divided into neighbourhoods, with many booths divided categorically. Neighbourhood highlights include the One of a Kind Visual Art Gallery, where visitors can browse through original artworks on sale at the show, and the One of a Kind Green, which is home to eco-friendly products.
On top of shopping, the show will host a number of lectures and seminars during its stay at the Enercare Centre. Guest speakers include House and Home senior editor Morgan Michener, interior stylist Janette Ewen and more. The show also holds daily fashion shows that showcase some of the many items of clothing sold by artisans at the event. Even the most seasoned shoppers get tired eventually, so the One of a Kind Café offers goodies and a respite from shopping. With so many different events and booths to take in at this year’s One of a Kind Show, the show also offers complimentary re-admission on offer, which means that guests can attend the show a second time for free.
Whether you want to cross another name off of your Christmas shopping list or simply soak up the holiday spirit, the One Of A Kind Show just might be worth a visit.
