‘Intervention’ Addict Turns to Huffing Duster After She ‘Defecated on a Car’ in Sneak Peek
Resorting to a dangerous coping method. Intervention’s Tuesday, December 13, episode focuses on a former John Hopkins University grad student who binges on alcohol and now huffs cleaning products, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.
Kristie was in the process of earning her master’s degree when an early childhood OCD diagnosis began burdening her daily life. She turned to alcohol to escape and now consumes approximately 20 beers a day.
In the AE docuseries’ preview clip, a handcuffed and clearly inebriated Kristie is seen struggling with a police officer while yelling at him, “Get off of me.” She then threatens a bystander by screaming, “I’m going to f–king destroy you, you dumb f–king bitch!”
Kristie’s family and friends are greatly concerned for her well-being, and they fear that her addiction has “turned her into a monster” and will eventually take her life. Kristie appears to hit rock bottom when she — sorry, but there’s no classy way to say this — publicly “defecated on a car,” as her friend Hillary puts it.
Having been admitted to the hospital 10 times within the last month, during four of which she’d had a blood alcohol content of 0.49 percent (0.30 percent is seen as leading to alcohol poisoning and a higher risk for death), it seemed as though matters couldn’t get much worse for Kristie. Sadly, she has recently taken to huffing computer duster.
“I do one to five cans of day, and afterward, your brain feels like it’s mush,” Kristie says in the clip. Hillary points out that the risky habit makes Kristie’s “mouth turn blue, and she shakes like she’s having a seizure.”
Watch the troubling footage above. Intervention airs on AE Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
