Is Kanye West Headed Home Again?
Is Yeezus returning to his hometown of Chicago? Rumors are flying after Kanye West told a crowd that he was “never leaving” The Windy City again, People reports.
Kanye was speaking to a group of high school students during an OpenMike event with fellow Chicago rapper, Chance The Rapper, when he made the announcement.
“I’ve got to let you all know, that I’m moving back to Chicago,” he said in a video clip. “and I’m never leaving again.”
The crowd reacted excitedly, responding to his announcement by shouting his name. This declaration may fall on deaf ears for some skeptics, especially considering he owns a house in the valley of Los Angeles with wife Kim Kardashian and their three kids.
Ye’s hometown loyalty was questioned earlier this year, when rapper Rhymefest accused Kanye of abandoning the non-profit founded in his mother’s name, Donda House.
@Drake when G.O.O.D. Music sends the money they owe you, will you please help us rebuild Kanye’s mothers house for the youth of Chicago. I spoke to Kanye about it. His response was “fuck the youth of Chicago”

After the fall out between Ye and Rhymefest played out publicly via Twitter, the organization announced they were renaming the non-profit, with a stern message to the rapper and his wife: “We encourage Kim and Kanye to indeed pick up the baton of service.”
Perhaps this is Kanye’s attempt to make amends with the broken ties between him and his native city.
