It’s A Boy! Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge Give Birth To Their Third Child
The wait is over. Kensington Palace has announced that Princess Kate and Prince Harry have given birth to their third child, and it’s another son.
The Royal announcement was made via Twitter. “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.” While the baby’s name has yet to be announced, among the betting community the favourites are Prince Arthur or Albert.
Kate was admitted to St. Mary hospital in Paddington, London, around 6 AM, UK Time, and gave birth a few hours later. It’s also been announced that the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry have been notified and are “delighted” by the news.
Kate also gave birth to George (now 4) and Charlotte (turning 3 this year) at the same London hospital. The royal baby is the fifth in line of succession after Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
As for what comes next, first up will be the official announcement’s posting on the easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace, visitation by relatives including Kate’s parents, William’s father Prince Charles and his wife Camillal, and a gun salute in one of London’s parks. Queen Elizabeth will visit the baby at Kensington Palace after the couple take their new son home. There may also be a mini press-conference held outside the hospital like the one William and Kate held to show George and Charlotte to the world.
