It’s Time To Get Your Nerd On At FanExpo Canada 2017

If you happen to be downtown this weekend, you might just run into one of the thousands of comic-book, science fiction, horror, anime, pop culture and gaming fans. They won’t be hard to miss either, as many of them will be dressed up like their favourite characters and carrying large, over-sized bags full of merchandise. The annual FanExpo takes place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre this weekend, and even if you don’t want to dress up, you won’t want to miss it.

This year’s big attraction is The Rocky Horror Picture Show star Tim Curry, who is making a rare appearance at a convention. He’ll be joined by several of his co-stars in the film as well, including Meat Loaf, Barry Bostwick, Patricia Quinn and Nell Campbell. Walking Dead fans will once again get to get up close and personal with Norman Reedus, and this year he’ll be joined by Khary Payton and Sonequa Martin-Green. Mrs. Green will also be there to represent the new Star Trek series with several of her new cast mates, such as Jason Issacs and Doug Jones. The cast of Stranger Things will also be on hand, along with other fan favoruites like Arrow’s Stephen Amell, Nathon Fillion, Matt Smith and Anthony Daniels.

On the comic book side of things Legendary artist and creator Jim Lee is the highlight, along with Greg Capullo, Scott Snyder, Phil Jimenez, Adam Kubert, Steve McNiven, Tony Moore and Erik Larsen. They are really just the tip of the iceberg though, as there are hundreds of artists, all of whom will be selling merchandise, customized drawings, and signing autographs. You really will find that one of a kind, unique gift here. And not just from the artists.

There are vendors all around the two floors of the convention centre. You’ll find that hard to get collectible, or get great deals on something you’ve had your eye on for years. FanExpo will take you back to your childhood, or help you build your collections. You’ll see your heroes, and meet people just trying to have a little fun in their hectic lives. It’s an experience that continues to grow each year, and each year you’ll find something different that you will remember for a lifetime.
