When Beyonce’ released Lemonade, our heads were spinning as she revealed that she was cheated on by Jay -Z. When he confirmed it on his 4:44 album, fans were in more shock that he could actually be unfaithful to “the baddest chick in the game.”
Jigga Man was the first guest on CNN’s The Van Jones Show and spoke about how he was able to save his marriage.
“That’s my soul mate, the person I love,” the Brooklynite said. “If you haven’t experienced love and you don’t understand it and have the tools to move forward, you’re going to have complications. You can either address it or pretend until it blows up at some point. For us, we chose to fight for our love [and]for our family to give our kids a different outcome. To break that cycle for black men and women. We were never a celebrity couple — we were a couple that happened to be celebrities. We are real people.”
Jay also spoke about his daughter Blue Ivy and how her empathetic nature inspired the concept for the “Family Feud” video, which was directed by Ava DuVernay.
“She’s definitely someone who has been here before. She’s so in-tuned to her feelings and how other people feel.”
