Jennifer Aniston Would Be ‘Psyched’ to Play a ‘Really Uncoordinated Superhero’
A woman of many talents. Jennifer Aniston told pal Chelsea Handler on the comedian’s Netflix show, Chelsea, that even though the actress hasn’t formally been asked yet, she would be super excited to play a movie superhero. And Us Weekly has an exclusive first look at the preview clip released on Wednesday, November 30.
“I would be psyched!” the veteran TV actress, 47, told Handler, 41. “But I would want to be the really uncoordinated superhero, because I just — I couldn’t take myself seriously leaping out of somewhere in a full leather something.”
At this, the Friends alum paused before adding, “I don’t know what I just described. Maybe that was Halle Berry … [she] could do this for the rest of her life.”
Talk of silver screen superstardom came up when Handler asked her longtime friend why she hadn’t tried to create work or star in a TV series with Office Christmas Party costar Jason Bateman and writer Justin Malen.
Aniston quickly quipped that she’s aware that “television is where it’s at.” “I really do believe the shows are more interesting, there’s more opportunity for women,” she said, comparing the small screen to the big screen. “Unless they want you as a superhero, which — that just hasn’t come into my email box or whatever.”
Even if Aniston doesn’t have any immediate superhero projects coming down the pipeline, she does have one very special hero in her life: her husband, Justin Theroux.
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres Wednesday, Aniston revealed that Theroux, 45, gave her the ultimate surprise for Thanksgiving this year by secretly coming home from Germany.
Detailing the moment when The Leftovers actor surprised her and her gathered Friendsgiving guests, Aniston said, “I gave the toast at the head of the dinner table, which is usually me and Justin. I gave, I guess, a very unimpressive toast where people were like, ‘Meh, great. Let’s eat.’”
“Then salads came out and everyone was just very somber and next thing you know, turkey walks in and there was another turkey holding that turkey,” she said with a smile. “That was my hubby. He came in with the turkey.”
The full episode of Chelsea streams on Netflix on Friday, December 9, at 3:01 a.m. ET.
