Kesha Has Written And Recorded 22 New Songs
With so many artists rushing to get new music out to their fans, Kesha is in a bit of a different boat. Due to her ongoing legal battle with producer Dr. Luke, Kesha hasn’t been able to release any new music at all. But that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been busy. The 29 year old has written and recorded 22 new tracks at her own expense.
Kesha’s last released solo music was the 2012 album Warrior. It was the followup to her 2010 successful debut record Animal. Since them however Kesha has filed lawsuits against her producer Dr. Luke and his label Kemosabe records, claiming he drugged, raped, and emotional abused her. Dr. Luke has denied the claims in court and countersued for defamation. Kesha’s complaints were dismissed back in April, but she has appealed and continues to be unable to release music.
New York Times Magazine interviewed the singer recently, and in it she reveals several of the tracks. She sings a country inspired track called Hunt You Down, Learn To Let It Go, which Kesha planned to released as a first single, and a song called Rainbows which she says she wrote in rehab.
Hopefully the lawsuit can be settled soon, because not only is Kesha wanting to get new music out to continue her career, but her fans have been patiently waiting as well.
