Lauryn Hill has been slapped with a lawsuit for running up her bill and choosing not to pay it. According to court documents obtained by Bossip, the “Ex-Factor” singer has been sued by American Express for not paying an outstanding balance of $371,892.39. The credit card company said they have reached out to Hill to seek payment but she reportedly “often refused” to put a payment down.
The lawsuit was filed at the New Jersey Superior Court earlier this month and also named Hill’s company, MLH Touring, as a co-defendant. How she ran her credit card bill up to six figures is unknown.
Hill has not commented on her latest legal matter.
Ms. Lauryn Hill filed a lawsuit of her own earlier this year against her own cousin. The New Jersey native sued her cousin, Gerald Hill, after she gave him a $65,000 loan and he did not pay her back. She claimed they signed an agreement that he would pay her back the full amount plus 10 percent but that repayment plan was never executed.
