Mariah Carey Set To Tour With Lionel Richie

Yesterday it was announced that 67 year old Lionel Richie will be going on tour with 46 year old Mariah Carey for his All The Hits Tour. While on the surface people may wonder why the duo would be paired up, but after taking a few minutes to let it sink in you’ll realize their music isn’t all that different. And in both cases, the audiences will gladly sing along with them. 

Both Carey and Richie took to Instagram to announce the tour. Richie said “Very pleased to announce that I will be performing #ALLTHEHITS for you on tour with very special guest, Mariah Carey starting March 15th, 2017! Tickets go on sale Saturday, December 17 at 10am”, and Carey stated “North American Lambs! I’m happy to announce I’ll be touring with @lionelrichie next year starting March 2017!”

Live Nation stated the the tour will last for 35 dates, stating in Baltimore on March 15 and ending in Fort Lauderdale on May 27. Between the pair they own five Grammy awards, and several number one hits. Both are well known for their song writing abilities, but it is Carey who holds the records of 17 number one hits that she wrote. Richie’s top songs include Say You, Say Me, Penny Lover, Endless Love, Dancing on the Ceiling and We Are The World, while Carey is known for Hero, Vision of Love, Emotions, One Sweet Day, and We Belong Together. 

The tour includes two Canadian dates, March 30th in Toronto and April 27 in Vancouver.
