Nick Cannon Will Spend Christmas In The Hospital Due To Lupus Flare-Up (Pics)

Nick Cannon lupus flare-up

It was just a few days ago that Nick Cannon spent some time in a children’s hospital, giving his time alongside legendary comedian Dick Gregory to give back. Now Cannon is the one in the hospital trying to get back to 100 percent as he deals with one of his debilitating lupus flare-ups.

I am keeping this guy in the best spirits , if you know me then you know I’m being silly as hell , gotta smile through it , it’s all about the energy and faith , must keep it positive !!!! #positivevibes #faith?

Cannon took to Instagram to inform people that he would be in the hospital through the holiday:

For all who have been trying to contact me the last few days this is where I’ve been. And I will be in the Hospital through Christmas. All good though, Doctors say I will be back to normal before the New Year. #LupusSucks #ncredible #warrior

In 2012, Cannon was diagnosed with lupus and has been hospitalized quite a few times since then for flare-ups and even kidney failure. Earlier this year he opened up about how his diagnosis has changed the way he lives his life:

Sometimes people don’t understand it until it hits close to home. I knew nothing about it until I was diagnosed. Totally scary. It was super scary just because you don’t know. You’ve never heard of this, and then you hear ‘autoimmune,’ you hear of people who have lost a battle with autoimmune diseases. But to me, I’m healthier now than I’ve ever been before because of the research, because of the education that I’ve received on it. The proper things to eat and the proper things to put into my body — what can cause flare ups and what can’t, and preventative measures and all of these things. And when you can share that information and share knowledge and research, I think that helps more than anything.

Cannon usually spends the holidays with his kids, Moroccan and Monroe, as well as ex-wife Mariah Carey, so to know that he will have to be in the hospital on Christmas is unfortunate. Hopefully he will be able to make a speedy recovery.
