Nick Viall Responds to Latest Rumor That He Dumped Jen Saviano to Become the Bachelor

Already the most dramatic season ever? The Bachelor season 21 star Nick Viall is speaking out about a rumor that he ended his romance with Bachelor in Paradise season 3 costar Jen Saviano in order to become the Official Rose Distributor.

Viall, 36, talked to Us Weekly and other reporters during a conference call on Wednesday, December 14, and was asked about fellow Paradise season 3 alum Lauren Himle‘s claim that he had been dating Saviano as recently as a week prior to the August 30 announcement that he would become the next Bachelor.

“No, none of that was remotely true,” Viall replied to reporters.

The furor began when Himle spoke to Detroit’s The Ticket radio station on August 31 and said of Viall, “I am not a big fan of [his]. He dated my great friend Jen on Bachelor in Paradise … but it was my understanding that they were still seeing each other after the show completed.”

When asked for how serious Viall and Saviano were after the ABC dating show ended, Himle said they were “still together in a relationship.… They were solid a week ago.”

As for Saviano’s response to Viall getting picked for the starring role? Right after he was revealed to be the Bachelor on August 30, she tweeted, “About that,” and included a GIF of Amy Schumer chugging from a giant glass of wine.

Meanwhile, Viall’s season is just weeks away, and ABC released a new holiday-themed promo for it on December 14. This clip is everything you’d wish for and more, including Christmas music, confetti — and yes, roses.
