Ontario Summer Festivals For Dog Lovers

Does your best friend have four legs, a wagging tail, and greet you with a friendly bark upon your return home from a long day at work? Although Woofstock just passed on May 26, there are a few other upcoming events which are perfect for you and your canine pal. If the answer is yes, you and your fur baby might want to spend the day together at one of these many festivals or expos, checking out interesting vendors and participating in tail wagging activities. We’ve found a few special happenings in Ontario which will allow you to spend quality time with your pooch.
The Niagara Pet Expo
The Niagara Pet Expo will be held at the Scotiabank Centre in Niagara Falls on June 9th from 10:00am-6:00pm and June 10th from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The expo will have over 300 vendors, an animal village, a parade of breeds, a disc competition, a display of reptiles and birds, and more. The day passes range from $8.00 for a youth to $35.00 for a family.
Wienerfest Home Country Festival
This Dachshund focused festival is located at the Embro West Zorra Community Centre in Embro, ON and will take place on June 23rd. Wienerfest Home Country Festival is Canada’s biggest breed particular event, which means that Dachshund owners will have a chance to meet others just like them. There will be a costume contest, photo shoots at the wienermobile, and the famous Dachshund Races. Registration for the Dachshund race is $12.00 per dog. This free event raises funds for Tiny Paws Dog Rescue Canada and raises awareness for abused and abandoned animals.
Pawlooza
Pawlooza will take place at the Plunkett Estate in London, ON, on International Homeless Animals’ Day which is August 18th, 2018. This ultimate dog party and fair for animal lovers is set to begin at 9:30 am and end at 5:00 pm. This volunteer-driven festival allows your pup to go for a swim in the pond, run a lure course, play with a Frisbee, and visit a VIP lounge. The festival also has 175 vendors and tons of free samples. Admission, which is entirely donated to charity, is $10.00 per vehicle.
