Roseanne’s Fate On The Conner’s Revealed
The mystery behind Rosanne Conner’s fate on the Roseanne spin-off The Conners has finally been revealed, and it doesn’t spell anything good for disgraced comedian Roseanne Barr. In an interview with The Sunday Times, John Goodman revealed that the character will be killed off.
Roseanne was revived earlier this year for a tenth season on ABC, and it immediately became one of TV’s biggest hits. While not everyone agreed with the politics of the show, people tuned in to see the revival in record numbers. Unfortunately shortly after the season ended, and it had been announced that it was to be renewed for the fall, star Roseanne Barr sent out a racist tweet that forced ABC to cancel the show. After a fair bit of back and forth, Barr agreed to let the show continue without her starring in it, or profiting from it. The show was renamed The Conners, and the entire cast, sans Barr, were to return.
In the interview, Goodman said he didn’t know how his character would be with Barr, who played his wife in the show, gone. He said “I guess he’ll be mopey and sad because his wife’s dead.”
Even though Barr’s character will be killed off, it doesn’t necessarily mean she will remain that way if in the future the controversy has died down and ABC decides to forgive her for her actions. After all, Goodman’s character was killed off in the original run of the series, but was revived for the recent run.
The Conners is set to debut on ABC this October.
