Saoirse Ronan Stars In Ed Sheeran’s New Music Video
Ed Sheeran’s new music video for his track Galway Girl premiered this morning, and fans of Brooklyn star Saoirse Ronan are in for a treat. She’s the star of it!
It’s been known for awhile that the 23-year-old Oscar nominee Ronan was going to be in the video, after all Sheeran himself has talked about it during his most recent concerts, but we didn’t know it would be so much fun. The actress takes Sheeran on an adventure of sorts, from dancing to drinking, and of course an impromptu tattoo session.
Sheeran tells a funny story of that tattoo session. In the video he’s looking at getting the song title tattooed on his arm in Ronan’s writing, but he revealed back in April that instead of writing Galway Girl, she wrote Grill instead.
Sheeran told his fans gathered at the concert that “When we were filming it I meant to get a tattoo of her handwriting saying “Galway Girl” and it’s kind of point of view and I get the tattoo. It actually says Galway Grill. Like full on, full on she really took the piss out of me with this one. It actually says Galway Grill. G-r-i-l-l. I thought I’d tell you that — I haven’t told anyone that yet.”
The video is mostly shot by Sheeran himself, from his perspective, and even with the spelling mistake, he seems to be having a lot of fun.
