It was nearly two months ago when the news hit that RB chanteuse Sevyn Streeter was prohibited from performing the National Anthem at the season opener game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Oklahoma Thunder because she wore a jersey that read “We Matter.”
Nevertheless, Streeter didn’t allow the offensive incident make her back down from explaining the situation to social media, which led to several news outlets covering it and the story stirring much conversation. In October, the fiasco came to a head when the organization issued an apology and offered to moved the conversation forward by inviting her to return and perform at a game of her choice.

Graciously accepting the offer, Streeter finally took front and center on the court on Friday (Dec. 16), singing the National Anthem as the 76ers took on the Los Angeles Lakers. And not only did she slay with her vocals, she stood proudly, rocking her “We Matter” jersey.
We see you, Sevyn!
