Vivica A. Fox Indie Drama ‘Kinky’ Gets Release Date
Despite being in the business for over 25 years, actress Vivica A. Fox is always booked. You never know where you may see her next. From tv shows and movies to talk shows and reality TV, she continues to prove she’s not going anywhere. Get ready because her new film is so sexy, it might just get the whole theater steamy.
Following the enormous success of the 50 Shades Of Grey franchise, the appetite for erotic dramas are high and in the upcoming indie drama Kinky, starring Vivica A. Fox, we get to see things from a black perspective. As reported by Deadline, Kinky is written and directed by Jean-Claude La Marre, who also helmed the films Chocolate City and Chocolate City: Vegas Strip both films which also starred Fox.
The film’s synopsis reads:
‘Kinky’ is set in the affluent community of Buckhead, Atlanta and follows Dr. Joyce Richardson, a talented, yet introverted surgeon at Sinai Hospital, who is struggling with the fact that she is still single despite all her professional successes. Her strict Christian upbringing is a constant source of internal conflict and limits the kind of men she dates. However, upon a chance encounter with handsome Investor Darrin Wethington, she immediately begins a whirlwind romance with the wealthy businessman and entrepreneur. It isn’t long before she begins to explore her own sexual fantasies and convinces Darrin to join her in SM sex. This leads them into further exploration of that world.
Kinky has been acquired by Patriot Releasing, which is part of the company’s commitment to distribute 10 films a year targeting the African American female audience. The film will hit 300 screens on October 12 and expand to 700 screens the following week.
Also starring in Kinky are: Dawn Richard (Danity Kane), Robert Ri’Chard (Coach Carter), Eurika Pratts (Black Magic) and Gary Dourdan (CSI.)
You can also expect to see Vivica A. Fox return in the upcoming season of the hit series Empire as Cookie’s older sister Candace and she has her own talk show Face The Truth, which is scheduled for syndication this fall.
