Watch The Carpool Karaoke Trailer Starring Will Smith, Metallica, Ariana Grande And More

You had to know it was coming. After all, after Jimmy Fallon had success with his Lip Sync Battles on the Tonight Show it became a hit TV series, so why not a series based around The Late Late Show’s James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke? And it makes even more sense for the series to be made by Apple Music. Of course this news was announced last summer, and then nothing else was said. That is until yesterday, when the first trailer for the series dropped.

Now before you get too excited, you need to know that James Corden won’t be the host of the series. He will be appearing in at least one episode though, as he’s seem in the trailer singing the theme to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air with Will Smith, before taking flight in a helicopter and singing I Believe I Can Fly while in the air. Other highlights in the trailer include Shaquille O’ Neal and John Cena squeezing into a car together, Ariana Grande and Seth Macfarlane singing Suddenly Seymour from Little Shop of Horrors, Alicia Keys and John Legend singing Fallin’, and even a clip of Billy Eichner teaching Metallica how to sing Rihanna’s Diamonds. Don’t go expecting the entire series to take place inside a car though. You see Legend bringing a gospel choir into a laundromat, Blake Shelton and Chelsea Handler singing in a bar, Metallica singing in a grocery store, and Cena and Shaq in a burger joint.

The first season of Carpool Karaoke will apparently feature 16 celebrity pairings, but as of yet the release date hasn’t been announced. We can’t help but get excited though after seeing the trailer.
