The Barden Bellas are finally back, well sort of. After several delays, the girls of Pitch Perfect are back in the studio getting ready for the third installment of the hit franchise.
The first Pitch Perfect was the sleeper hit of 2012, and the 2015 sequel was just as big of a hit. A third movie was planned shortly afterwards, with the director of the sequel Elizabeth Banks once again taking the director’s chair, but then things started changing. First the release date changed from summer 2017 to Christmas 2017, then Banks dropped out as the director and was replaced by Trish Sie. There were even rumours that star Anna Kendrick might have to be replaced. Thankfully we now know that rumour isn’t true, as the Pitch Perfect 3 crew released rehearsal footage over the weekend, and Kendrick was part of it.
Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Hailee Steinfeld and the rest of the cast are seen getting the steps right in a new dance number. You can tell that the cast was really excited to be back together again. Rebel Wilson summed up her performance, much like her character in the movies Fat Amy, “Day 1…what can I say? Crushed it.”
Pitch Perfect 3 is set to be released on December 22. So far not a lot is known about the movie other than their tagline, Get ready to have a Merry Pitchmas.
