“You Can Be Whatever You Want To Be”: Cam Newton Writes Heartfelt Poem For Son
As Cam Newton prepares for the arrival of his second child with long-time girlfriend Kia Proctor, he’s flexing his poetic chops in an effort to share a truly beautiful message with his 1-year-old son, Chosen.

With the help of The Players’ Tribune, Cam shared not just a poem, but also a video featuring images from throughout his son’s first year in the world.
Dear son,
This promise I tell you. pic.twitter.com/UdxxD8JYl9

He’s literally the spitting image of Cam! This is pretty much the first time we’re seeing Chosen, as Cam and Kia have tried to keep his face hidden most of the time. Despite being 6’5″ and more than 240 lbs, Cam definitely has a softer side that he showed with his message to his son. But as he said last year, he plans to show Chosen tough love in the same way his own father, Cecil, did.
“Every man should have that father figure in their life,” he told reporters during a Panther’s press conference. “I know, especially where I grew up, it wasn’t a lot of people that had men in their life. At times I questioned that sometimes my father was too hard on us. My mom could attest to that. Now that I’m lucky enough to have a son, I’m going to be the same way.”
Who doesn’t love such heartfelt declarations from a father to their son?
